You don’t need a reason to be nice to someone, but why don’t you make one of these as your resolution on your favourite day of the year.
Forgive Someone
Prolonged anger towards self or others negatively affects your health. It can lead to physical and emotional sickness. The sooner you can forgive someone and move on away from those negative feelings, the better! Letting go of grudges and bitterness makes way for compassion, kindness and peace.
When forgiving others it is so important to remember that there might be people you need to ask forgiveness from as well. Make it a habit to always forgive others, but also make an effort to examine your own actions and see if there is anyone whom you have wronged. If so, admit that you have wronged them and ask that person for forgiveness.
Thank Your Bus Or Taxi Driver
Bus and taxi drivers, along with others in service-related professions, often have to deal with unhappy or rude customers. By being kind and courteous to your hard-working driver, hopefully you’ll be able to make up for the bad experiences they have had with impolite customers. And do remember to be courteous to your driver by remembering to say “thank you” when you get to your destination.
And there are hundreds of other great things to adopt this birthday like – say “Good morning” to a person standing next to you in the elevator or each time you get a new item of clothing, give away something old or let the person behind you at the supermarket checkout with one or two items go ahead of you.
